Monday, August 2, 2010... Week 16/Day107... Run 4miles
I slept and Todd ran 4 miles in 40minutes... he said he had King of Pain running through his head the whole time! Catchy isn't it.
Sunday, August 1, 2010... Week 15/Day 106... Rest
First let me start by saying, it is HOT here!!!
And today was my day to run 10 miles.
Yes, I completed the daunting task, running the whole way.
However, my journey was not with out drama.
I got up at 3am - no, not a typo.
(The only way to survive the heat is to run without the sun!)
I got dressed.
I got in the care, where the temp read 88 degrees.
I drove to my 1/2 way point, which happened to be the Panama City Marina.
There, I left my frozen G2 and a gel pack in a bag with "Please Leave for Runner" written on it.
I drove home, stretched and was running by 4am.
At this point, all is well, I only had one little issue during my first 5 miles, but I will tell you about that later.
So, I ran all the way down Harrison Ave, past the Downtown Panama City sign,
... where a bum was passed out cold!
As I continued to get closer to the marina, I was salivating at the thought of a nice cold G2 and picked up the pace, only to arrive at my destination to find my G2 gone with the gel pack consumed and left in the bag there for me - MOCKING ME!!!!!
I was PISSED OFF...
OUTRAGED...
ANGRY...
SWEATY...
THIRSTY...
AND A LITTLE SCARED!!!!!!!
Yes, I know it was probably a homeless individual, who needed it more than I did. I have also thought long and hard about what point I would like to make about the situation. The tirade of opinions I want to share has felt like a debate team waging a war in my head.
So, in order not to say something I may regret, I will say nothing at all...
Except maybe the penance, the late Father Kirwin might have given me after confession.
10 "Our Fathers" (The Lord's Prayer)
"forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.."
Luckily, a really nice person at the McDonalds on Harrison gave me a cup of water before they were even open for business.
Lets hear it for the Golden Arches!
And, I made it home without anymore drama!
Oh! Back to my issue during the first 1/2 of my run.
Let's just say there are not any of these along the route...
and when nature calls....
I told you I was pissed!
Saturday, July 31, 2010... Week 15/Day105... Run 10 miles
Todd ran at the Lynn Haven Rec Center.
When he got home, he dropped his shorts on the tile floor and there was literally a SPLASH of sweat as they hit the floor!
YUCK!!!
As I said, it is HOT!!!!!
Friday, July 30... Week 15/Day 104... Rest
