Tired... in a good way!

Monday - Week 2/Day 7 ... Run/Walk 20 minutes
Did it... still living
In bed, fast asleep by 9pm!

Tuesday - Week 2/Day 8... Rest
Walked 30 minutes

Wednesday - Week 2 Day 9... Run/Walk 20 minutes
Yep, felt "good"
Passed out in bed by 10pm... barely made it through Top Chef Masters!
Realized while running/walking that Todd had a screw in his tire as we walked by... had to get that fixed... and life goes on.

Thursday (Today) - Week 2/ Day 10... Run/Walk 20 minutes
Did it!  Easier in some ways than the day before.
I really have to focus on my breathing and relaxing during the run... sounds like labor to me... and as I remember labor, it was extremely painful.... no, excruciating.... Lord help us!

It is funny, I keep having bursts of energy... for example right after Todd and I came in from our workout this morning, I was ready to at least walk again... then I have moments where my unmade bed is beckoning!

Another Goal...

I think I may have a marathon buddy!

Yep, my Todd!

Saturday, Week 1/Day 5... Walk 20 min.
Walked 30 instead.

Sunday... Week 2/ Day 6... Rest.
Did 2 Gut Busters... OUCH!
Walked 30 minutes.

Tomorrow, we start running/walking.

Todd and I have decided to do a 5K on May 23... it will be interesting to really see where we are at that time, but we are excited to do it.

Puppy Love!

Week 1/Day 3... Walk 20 minutes
No Problem
Leg is a little stiff.
Had some company...
Yes, Robin is about that worthless.

She walked with me about 10 minutes and when we passed by the front door at one point I thought she was going to pull me through it before I could open it.  Some support she is!

Today... Week 1/Day 4... Rest
Walked 25 minutes instead...
accompanied by my amazing, supportive, if not a little skeptical husband!
Thank you Todd!

Day 2... ouch!

Yes, I am just as shocked as you are...
The Walt Disney World Marathon
Sunday, January 9, 2011
5:40am

So, I found a 26 week marathon training program for beginners.

Yesterday... Week 1/Day1... Walk 20 minutes
No Problem

Today... Week 1/Day 2... Walk 20 minutes
Problem
Injured myself jumping rope.
Walked Limped 20 minutes anyway

Now, you may be asking ('cuz I know I am)... why at almost 38 years of age have I, never having been athletic in any form or fashion, decided to do the seemingly impossible?

Pick one:
I am tired.

I am tired of being tired.
(By the way, is it time for a nap yet:)

I hate being overweight.
(Now let me qualify this by saying... I do not have a numerical weight loss goal... my goal is to finish the training, the marathon and set myself on a healthier path... I am just in hopes that dropping more than a few pounds will coincide with this goal.)

I am desperate to set a good example for our three boys.

I believe I am no longer the person I was 10 years ago.  I would like to be proud of an accomplishment, something that did not come easy, something I had to stick my neck out for.  To have my husband, who I love more that he will ever know, be proud of me and think I am incredible.
(How narcissistic is that!)

In a world full of labels, I would love to have one of my own choosing - Completed a Marathon
Instead of having one thrust upon me - Parents of a Child Who Died, Cancer Survivor

And why the Disney Marathon?
Well, Duh!

And also, when I went to the website for the 2011 race, I had a "moment."
It seems the Beneficiary of the 2011 Marathon is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Hodgkin's Lymphoma Survivor (pesky label) - Well, enough said.

Supposed to walk 20 minutes again tomorrow... planning on walking, not limping and staying away from the jump rope for a couple of days.

It is entirely possible, that I have lost my mind....

Yes, I am certain of it.
26 weeks to 26.2 miles.
26.2 miles in one of my favorite places on Earth.
Can you guess what I am going to do?
