Yes, I am just as shocked as you are...
The Walt Disney World Marathon

5:40am
So, I found a 26 week marathon training program for beginners.
Yesterday... Week 1/Day1... Walk 20 minutes
No Problem
Today... Week 1/Day 2... Walk 20 minutes
Problem
Injured myself jumping rope.
Now, you may be asking ('cuz I know I am)... why at almost 38 years of age have I, never having been athletic in any form or fashion, decided to do the seemingly impossible?
Pick one:
I am tired.
I am tired of being tired.
(By the way, is it time for a nap yet:)
I hate being overweight.
(Now let me qualify this by saying... I do not have a numerical weight loss goal... my goal is to finish the training, the marathon and set myself on a healthier path... I am just in hopes that dropping more than a few pounds will coincide with this goal.)
I am desperate to set a good example for our three boys.
I believe I am no longer the person I was 10 years ago. I would like to be proud of an accomplishment, something that did not come easy, something I had to stick my neck out for. To have my husband, who I love more that he will ever know, be proud of me and think I am incredible.
(How narcissistic is that!)
In a world full of labels, I would love to have one of my own choosing - Completed a Marathon
Instead of having one thrust upon me - Parents of a Child Who Died, Cancer Survivor
And why the Disney Marathon?
Well, Duh!
And also, when I went to the website for the 2011 race, I had a "moment."
It seems the Beneficiary of the 2011 Marathon is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Hodgkin's Lymphoma Survivor (pesky label) - Well, enough said.
Supposed to walk 20 minutes again tomorrow... planning on walking, not limping and staying away from the jump rope for a couple of days.
